he INNOWATER project’s approach was demand-driven and based on a bottom-up approach. This resulted in a large number of companies and innovation intermediaries becoming involved. Building on the needs of the companies, the activities and tools in the project were specifically targeted to address their actual demands.

The project was set up to accomplished this through the development and testing of the most promising methods and tools to facilitate technology and knowledge transfer; to promote innovative technologies to first-user SMEs; to develop and test first-user tools in industry sectors facing water issues; to pro-actively involve key clusters and industry associations and development user-friendly support delivery schemes in the form of business support programmes.
